Dear friends,

It is so nice to be writing you. It is times like these I am thankful for this blog. I miss everyone like crazy and I am now facing the world and my it is a sight to behold. I cannot explain the joy I had going to Texas this last week. It really was a growing experience for me. My life is chuck full of life experience right now but Texas may have been my favorite and one of the most life changing.

I am craving to watch Dr. Who... I guess I am one of those nerds destined to like this series. Mariah lets reserve the two weeks I have off before fall for Dr. Who.

I have to say though that Texas made me one-gazzilion times more homesick. It really showed me how my life has changed and how some of us are going to different paths. It was hard to be with people I was so comfortable with, had all the inside jokes, and then come back and try to find my place here. Though I am finding it! Inch by inch. And everyone here is amazing. But it isn't that friendship and happiness you find with those you hold dear to your heart the most.
Deep again. Another quick break? MUMFORD AND SONS IS COMING TO SLC!!!!
Well at this point I want to beg my dear friends to blog. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! I need to hear from my friends and learn about all the awesome adventures we find ourselves stumbling upon.
And I will conquer another week of BYU! :D

Here start my college adventure! I left for the campus an hour before my first class to have time to tour the campus! I took some pictures! Class starts in 22 min! See below the reason why I want my own printer.

Mariah Moved Me!

Post #258 by Mrs. Mariah convinced me into movement, the movement of my room! I had a kinda messy room. Just a little... Well more than a little! A HUGE MESS! It was discouraging to me and many of my family members commented on the sociological hampering effects of my disaster of a room. Don't believe me? Go ahead, take a look. Yeah. It was that bad. BUT in my defense my nieces had stayed a week while their parents were in Hawaii! So many build-a-bears were tossed around my room, Disney video games on display on my floor and a hidden picnic was left to my surprise in the back of my closet. Behind my dresser, which was my first area to tackle, I found a paycheck, a crown, dust bunnies, and a gateway to Narnia! Oh the magic of cleaning.

But that wasn't the end of it. I felt like my room was lacking space. So I really rearranged my room! In a way I never dared before! Adding space was simple! I just disposed of my bed!


Haha. Just kidding. But I did do something radical. I moved my bed to a place I always wanted to but never really dared to.

Moral of the story: our Father in Heavenly way is of order! So many benefits have come from having an orderly room. I feel more uplifted and my focuses are more serious, I feel so much better in my orderly room! I can concentrate. I feel more optimistic. Oh and since I take many pictures of myself I have brighten your day by sharing a picture with me thumb-upping my orderly room!

Tie Drive, Tie Drive! Hearken, Ye!

We Are His Hands (S.O.S. Saturdays of Service) is currently holding a tie drive. Right now you may be wondering, What is a tie drive? How can I possible help? Why would people need ties? What am I having for lunch? Well, I can answer all but one of those questions!

What is a Tie Drive?

To understand this one you may need some background information.

In the LDS church, missionaries are sent out to many and diverse places around the world. They are constantly meeting people, trying to share messages about Jesus, hope, and happiness. When investigators decide that they would like to be baptized and they start going to church, they may face a problem. A problem we could fix.

Each Sunday the women dress in a dress or a skirt and top. Men dress in suits and ties. For new members (especially in cases of poverty or third-world countries) it can be hard to find something to wear. Going to church looking and feeling different from everyone else can make that person feel bad about themselves or feel dejected.

We would like to gather ties from around our neighborhoods, families, ward members, or friendly souls trying to help a bit. We will also accept donations for postage cost. We Are His Hands (S.O.S. Saturdays of Service) will package the ties and ship them according to need.

How You Can Help

I know a tie is a small thing, but I believe it could make a big difference. If we can help just one person feel better about themselves, and to be happy about something that is all theirs and just theirs, let’s do it.

If you have old ties, new ties, big ties, small ties, please donate! If you don’t have any of the above we will accept cash donations for postage. We guarantee this money will only be used for the cost of postage.

If you would like, we can also take a picture of you to send with the ties for the receiver. Sort of a “Hello, I sent this tie for you!” thing.
